The Common Breakdown of the Electric Power Transformer
The following is the common breakdown of the electric power transformer
1. The windings were aged. There will be short-circuit in the electric power transformer layers. Parts overheating and being moisture may also cause the electric power transformer damage.
2. The electric power transformer's core (magnetic circuit) may have the troubles of old age. This would lead to weakness in the core insulation. This breakdown is likely provoked by the collision between the threading screw and the yoke of the electric power transformer. Vibration or abnormal sounds caused by loose laminating iron also increase the iron loss.
3. Structural failure in the electric power transformer may be the some local parts overheating. This problem is due the pollution of the joints. Other breakdowns may also happen if the electric power transformer is not protected well, such as tank leakage, oil meter failure, pipe explosion.
4. Failure of the electric power transformer oil. Long-term condition of being in high temperature would lead to oxidation of the insulation oil. This problem is because of absorbing moisture excessively. Depositing oil drops would block the electric power transformer's oil pip, which will weakens the function of dissipating. Decreasing in the oil’s ability of insulating causes the flashover.
Knowing the electric power transformer’s common breakdown is definitely helpful for the solution of the transformer.
