Winding is the power transformer electric circuit, core is the power transformer magnetic circuit. These two important parts constitute the electromagnet part of the power transformer, namely the core of the power transformer. Apart from these two components, these are tank, cooling equipment, insulating sleeve, regulator and protective device, etc in the power transformer.
Type of the power transformer core: Heart-type (simple design and widely usage), Shell-type (used in small-capacity transformer and electric transformers.)
The core of power transformer is usually made by stacked cold-rolled or hot-rolled silicon steel, whose thickness is 0.35mm-0.5mm, with which high content of silicon materials.
Core of the power transformer overlap: the near layers are stacked in cross way, making the joints apart. The even number layers just press the odd number layer's joints, in order to decrease magnetic reluctance and facilitate the magnetic flux circulation.
Core column shape: square or rectangular is fit for small transformers, and trapezoid is suitable for large power transformer.
The winding of the power transformer generally formed from insulated flat copper or round copper wire winding on the molds. The winding set installed in the power transformer core column. Low voltage winding in the inner, high voltage winding in the outside of the low-voltage with the purpose of insulating.
