Overload capacity of dry transformer is related with ambient temperature, the load before overload situation (initial load), transformer insulation heat dissipation, heat time constant and so on. How to use this ability of dry transformer, there are two points for reference.
(1) Reduce calculate transformer capacity of dry transformer properly: full account of steel rolling, welding and possibility of short-term impact of overload other equipment, try to use the ability to reduce the load capacity of the dry transformer; for uniform load places, such as night lighting for the main residential areas, cultural and recreational facilities for lighting, air conditioning and the main shopping malls during the day, can take full advantage of its overload capacity, decreases transformer capacity properly, so the main run time at full load or overload operation.
(2) Reduce the number or units spare capacity of dry transformer. In some places, the standby transformer coefficients are higher, and the project was optional transformer capacity, the number is large. In using of dry transformer overload capability, taking into account the spare capacity may be compressed, the number of spare units may also be reduced. When dry transformer is overloaded, be sure to pay attention to monitor their operating temperature, if the temperature rises up to 155 ℃ (a warning issued)measures should be taken to reduce the load (minus some minor load) to ensure the safety of the major load power supply.
